He goes to Afghanistan and is put into the wrong unit and is not prepared to fight. He ruminates and talks about picking strawberries with his fiancee back in the states, and how much he longs for both. Strawberries in the book is both a symbol and metaphor, and represents sexual intimacy, wounded heart, and actual wounds in the book. For instance, at the end of the book, is the line "And all over his body, strawberries bloomed." This line represents him being shot by enemy. *** What I Like **** I like old school looking penguin classic literary covers from the 1950 - 1960's. I like minimalist look with symbols to represent things. I like interesting BUT readable typefaces, and flat color schemes.
