Not In America
It’s loosely based on a factual incident which occurred in a small town in upstate New York in 1928. What happened was that a child went missing and the Jewish people in the town were blamed. They were accused of taking the little girl to use for her blood for a ritual for the Jewish holiday. Then the next day, the child showed up. She was fine. She’d fallen asleep in the woods behind her home. However, this started an entire witch hunt that included the KKK and the major. This is only the very beginning of the book and the catalyst for my real story. Here is the crux of the story: The story follows the Shatzman family. They are a Jewish family consisting of a blonde mother, a brown haired father, a 19 year old very handsome black haired son, and a fifteen year old brown haired daughter. The Shatzman’s are driven out of this small town by the KKK and the end up in Manhattan in the late 1920’s. Sam is the main character. He is the one who was falsely accused of the abduction. He has a love interest. She wears a blonde ponytail. She saved him from being persecuted. But she is in the small town and he is in Manhattan. The story is very serious. It is Jewish Historical Fiction. And the rest of the series will be dealing with the Holocaust in Europe. On the cover somewhere other than in the text I would like a Star of David to show that this is Jewish fiction. Also on the cover I would like the cover to say that I am a USA Today Bestselling Author.
I am thinking that I would like a vintage looking man with dark hair. I don't want him facing the camera. I would prefer if her were seen from behind. I would like him to be looking out at the skyline of New York City during the 1920s. I want it to look as if he is headed to the city. And in the background a young woman's face. She has blonde hair and she is pretty. She is gazing down at him, like a dream or a vision. Does this make any sense? Perhaps we should leave out the star of David. I don't know where to put it.
