MedGurus got their new book cover by running a design contest:
Guidebook to become a medical student - BIG JOB EXTENSION AFTER CONTEST POSSIBLE
Check out MedGurus's Book cover contest…
We help people to study medicine by passing the entrance exam for the university. We are a bunch of doctors and students who all had to face the same exam and passed it. We are highly motivated to support our students to pass the exam as well and become a "MedGuru".
What's your vision?
We look for a design for our new book series that will be published in Dez. 2015. Overall the series is composed of 12 books. 7 deal with an exam called TMS/EMS and the other 5 with an exam called MedAT. Each of the 7 TMS/EMS books is designed in a different color, the 5 MedAT books are all done in green colors. We want you to design us the template for one book that can be applied to all the other 11. It should have certain elements in common with the older series, so people can see that the new series is a continuation. There is one main book for each test called "Der Leitfaden TMS/EMS" = "the guide for TMS/EMS" and "Der Leitfaden für den MedAT" = "the guide for the MedAT test" The other 6 resp. 4 are specific books that explain certain parts of the test in a very detailed way. The test is composed of a certain number of sub tests. The specific books explain only one sub test. Your job is to design the template for "Der Leitfaden für den TMS/EMS" that should stick out because it is the main guide book. Size: 195*275*8mm plus 3mm blind on every side Fonts: - Main Title: Libby (heavy or semibold etc.) - Text on the back cover: Elements that should be placed in the same or a similar manner: - white text - logo on front page - white bar on the bottom with authors names - colors of the books can slightly differ from the last series for e.g. purple --> light purple Text: Frontcover: Main Title: TMS & EMS Der Leitfaden Subtitle: für den Medizinaufnahmetest in Deutschland und der Schweiz 4. Auflage 2016 UPDATE 25th 09.2015: Authors names: A. Pfeiffer C. Lechner A. Hetzel Text spine of book: TMS & EMS - Der Leitfaden | MedGurus Verlag Text back cover: Lore ipsum... (see cover attached) You find a picture attached of a logo i found in a bar, that looks similar to the design of our main title and which i like. What should be new? We need a fresh look of the old design with either new symmetric shapes or something different. The design should fit to our homepage www.medgurus.de We work a lot with funny cartoons and vivid colors. The design for "Der Leitfaden" could include a cartoon for e.g. the super man - guru. We designed for every book that deals with a sub test a special cartoon. One idea could be to display the cartoons of all subtests on the cover of "Der Leitfaden" because this book explains all subtests or only one: the super man - guru. TARGET GROUP We help puiples to get into medical school. The age group is between 16 - 25 years of age. It shouldn't look to serious. UPDATE 25th 09.2015: You find the barcodes for the back cover attached The exact sizes are: Front cover is 195* 275mm and back cover the same size. Spine is 8mm. You should add a blind to all sides of 3mm, that will be cut off after printing . So total size is: width: 2*195+8+3mm+3mm; height is 3mm+275mm+3mm
EXTENSION OF THE JOB POSSIBLE! There are 11 books in total that need a new design. If the template is good we need someone to adapt the template to the resting 10 books.
