Why That Pain Does Not Make Sense Now
The Author is one who has experienced the different ramifications of how pain can affect the life of an individual from childhood through adolescence to adulthood. He is a Nigerian and a Finance Professional with numerous awards from both the academic and work-related spheres of life. The author wishes to express his view on the subject of emotional pain and suffering from an emotional perspective, because he believes everyone has experienced a form of these in life due to challenges within and outside their control. Hence, the need to understand why the pain and suffering we go through may not make sense immediately but actually becomes a source of our strength in the future. The author knows a lot about why emotional pain may not make any sense when one is going through it because of his experience in this area. Before the global pandemic created by the Corona virus, the author had a very painful experience of being admitted into the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a government healthcare facility in January 2019 due to some chronic pain he experienced. The pain of the ICU experience did not make sense then, but it does now. He has also experienced different levels of emotional pain and suffering because of his humble background. Helping people achieve an understanding of emotional pain and why it does not make sense now or when they’re going through it, matters deeply to me because what you’re about to learn helped me to understand and overcome the emotional pain created by adversity, grief, sadness, loss of loved ones, as well as other issues of life within and outside my control. The author is the right person to be writing this book because he has seen and been through emotionally painful times and adversity which did not make immediate sense to him. However, as time went by, he was able to start making sense of the pain he went through, the value they create and how they made his life better than it used to be. He was able to later use his pains to connect the dots about the issues in his past and present situations and to eventually realize the reasons why the emotional pain he was going through made no sense when it was happening. The author is writing this book because he has gained a lot of experience and knowledge that he is passionate about sharing because he knows it will help young men and women to understand why they may be going through what they are presently going through. The benefits and value of their present emotional pain maybe insensible until time intervenes to make them see the hidden value in what they went through.
This book is about making sense of our emotional pain and understanding that the pain we go through in life is not a waste, that happiness usually precedes some of our emotionally painful experience in life. Going through emotionally painful experiences can make us develop emotional immunity which could become contagious as we make people around us happy when we display happiness and sad when we continually hold unto sadness.
