The Title is:
Make Every Shot Count:How Basketball Taught a Point Guard to be a Surgeon
I would like to redesign the front and back cover of the book. This book was published 2 years ago and has done well. We are going to re-release this and need a fresh and exciting new look. Please emphasize Steve Kerr's name on the back cover. He's very popular in the basketball world (teammate of Michael Jordan) and name and endorsement should be very prominent.
The back cover is as follows:
"My old coach Phil Jackson used to say 'basketball is a metaphor for life, and life is a metaphor for basketball.' Bruce captures that statement perfectly in his memoir. The pursuit of greatness in the game of basketball in his youth carved the path of Bruce's life, giving him the work ethic, confidence and spirit to build a great career and family. In the end, that's what youth sports are supposed to be about. This book strengthens my faith in that ideal."

From New Jersey’s rough and competitive world of playground basketball to the sleep-deprived reality of surgical training, Make Every Shot Count presents a gripping report of how a young boy utilizes lessons learned on the court to overcome adversity and achieve his goals. Often hilarious and at times heart wrenching, this captivating narrative leaves the reader mesmerized by a unique perspective on two very different worlds. Make Every Shot Count is a must read for young athletes, coaches, aspiring physicians and anyone who wants to know more about what it takes to be a surgeon.
Dr. Bruce Rosenfeld is an Assistant Professor of Urology at Eastern Virginia Medical School and a partner with Urology of Virginia. He lives and practices in Virginia Beach, where he enjoys caring for his patients while never forgetting his basketball roots.
We would like the look to be clean, exciting, fresh and vibrant. I have included one sample cover that we really liked. The publisher put together an example (that came directly off of a sketch idea that we had and is included) and feel free expand and work off that. HOWEVER; ALSO PLEASE FEEL FREE TO USE YOUR CREATIVITY; WE ARE NOT AFRAID TO GO IN A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT DIRECTION. Lastly, I have included a second rough sketch of another idea for consideration that may or may not be worthwhile.
The guidelines from the publisher are as follows:
We can work with either Adobe InDesign and/or Adobe Photoshop. They need to package the files so that we have access to all the links and fonts (and don't use Apple fonts, but only True Type fonts because we use PCs), then send us the layered and packaged file. We should be able to make corrections from there. The book is a 5x8 trim and the page count is 208 pages. You can send this link:
