Your design should be bold and authoritative, without losing an empathetic and compassionate bent. It should feel like an easy book to read. It should appeal to a predominantly female audience aged 35 to 65. Avoid flashy designs or too much of a pop-culture feel, as we aim to create a series of books on weight loss with enduring value. What to Avoid: Avoid images that communicate deprivation (i.e. salads), as this book promotes body awareness and a more permissive approach in regards to food. Avoid any images that would make an overweight woman feel bad about her body. Instead, all images should reaffirm the person, the ease of what we're presenting. For example, avoid pictures of slim, sexy, scantily clad women. Women in the photo should not appear crazy due to emotional eating or unruly food cravings (such as a woman leering at a piece of chocolate). Avoid tape measures which suggest calorie counting. We're looking for something more holistic than calorie counting. General Joyful Belly Brand: Joyful, simple, fun, clean, clear, & accurate. Avoid anything too new agey / spiritual, gourmet, exotic or chic - which makes the user feel like weight loss is unattainable. Colors: The palate of Joyful Belly is bright, vibrant, and happy. For reference, our brand hex colors are #ED633D (peach) , #6E99CE (powder blue), #99C86D (lime green), and #FEE387 (light yellow). Refer to our website for more details on our look and image.
