What's your vision?
We are looking for a cover that deals with life, death, and grief. We would like a creative vision for the title. However, no coffins, cemeteries or flowers. Please be creative with the utmost respect and taste. This is a professional book that I want people to sit on their coffee table or a business office.
I want a book cover design for a book I'm writing called: Title: Ten Encounters with Death and Grief Subtitle: Constructive Techniques for Coping Author: Mark E. Bailey, M.S., L.F.D. A space should be reserved on the back for ISBN and an image of the author. Back cover should reflect the following statement: Ten Encounters with Death and Grief: Constructive Techniques for Coping explores death from the perspective of one who is dying and one who is grieving or helping someone else grieve. There is no need to stand afar and sadly watch someone else grieve. If you are prepared, you can be of great benefit to a grieving loved one. You can also help yourself grieve better. Rather than embracing old ideas and psychology methods that have been proven ineffective for processing grief, you can grieve fully and completely with understanding, hope, and grace. (This can be shortened if necessary) Please let me know if you think a BIO looks appropriate.
Author Mark Bailey has encountered death on many occasions and from various perspectives. As a Maryland State Trooper and as military Mortuary Affairs Officer, Mark has been the first to inform over 75 family’s that their loved ones have died. Mark has performed over 2,000 house calls being one of the first professionals to assist when a death at a residence has occurred.
Mark studied mortuary science Arapahoe Community College. He is board certified through the International Conference of Funeral Service Examining Boards, Inc., and board certified to practice in the state of Maryland as a Licensed Mortician and Funeral Director. Mark has directed over 1500 funerals and conducted over 2,000 embalming’s in his 20-year career. Mark earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Coppin State University and his Master’s Degree in Management from The Johns Hopkins University. The focus is on the death care profession and communicating when families are dealing with death. This book is being written for professionals in all phases of dealing with death, Law enforcement, Doctors, Nurses, Hospice, and funeral professionals. Any images used should reflect the type of readers we're trying to attract. I don't want any crazy cover artwork like coffins, headstones, cemeteries, flowers or anything weird. What I want is a simple, professional design. I want it to look like it belongs on a best seller rack at Borders. I would like to use the photo attached. If this can be used can you clean up the photo for inclusion.
