Hachette Legends: THE FALLEN
A well known senior member of the Hachette Sheriff's Department, Captain Dallas Walker finds himself faced with a sudden string of alarming cases of assault and murder, and tries desperately to bring justice to the victims as fear in the streets reaches an all time high. A budding serial killer, Joseph Dire, arrives in Hachette to reunite with a man from his past, but the closer he comes to his goal, the more fearful he becomes of the confrontation. And when he's offered a job to work as a hit-man for a local gangster, he becomes absorbed in the local gang culture, and reluctant to continue the search. Revered gang leader, Caleb Smythe, has been blackmailed, and struggles to maintain his place of respect, while also being forced to rely on someone outside his control to procure his freedom. Putting his reputation, and his life, at risk. Rose Thorne's work as an underworld fixer was only ever meant to be a means of providing for her younger sister. But when those two worlds begin to intersect too closely, she could lose her only remaining family. Vincent Carnes changes his name, and tries to begin anew in his childhood home, hoping to move on from a life pursuing revenge. But as his violent tendencies grow out of control, he risks lashing out and damaging everything he's worked to build, while also being forced to forge new alliances to help keep the demons of his past at bay.
Aimed primarily for mature readers and young adults, as well as anyone who enjoys the gothic and grotesque.
The first half of the title, Hachette Legends, should be in a Ricochet or Roper font, with a distressed vintage texture. The second half of the title, THE FALLEN, should be in a font similar to Goliad, with a withered wood, or pealing paint style texture. The cover needs an illustration of an unkempt man in a black leather jacket with medium length red hair, carrying a backpack and crossing a five span Pratt truss bridge at night during a thunder storm. The bridge itself must be wide enough for a two lane road. The man's stature must appear at least somewhat upbeat, despite his surroundings.
