Option #1: Desolate Washington D.C. skyline decades after a permanent blackout. Winter.
Option #2: Large (15') concrete wall topped with 3-4' of barbed wire, but the wall can be up to 300' tall. There is electricity in small towns on one side, blackout on the other. Possibly incorporate the figure of a rugged teenage boy (someone who looks like the actor Dylan O'Brien from Teen Wolf) dressed raggedly for winter on the dark side.
Option #3: Rugged, dirty-faced teenage boy's focused stare. He wears ragged winter clothes. Possibly surrounded by dark falling snow in desolate DC. Possibly with his arm around the love of his life, his girlfriend (someone who looks like the actress Lily Collins from Mortal Instruments).
If helpful, here is a partial plot description: The United States is divided in two. After sudden climate change froze the globe and triggered the worldwide Blackout, America built an unscalable wall to isolate its scant power in the top half of the nation. This wall — the Frontier — splits a smaller United States from the desolate new Dark Zone. Now 2082, decades later in the Dark Zone, former Americans call themselves DZs and dwindle in villages plagued by brutal cold. Sixteen-year-old Phoenix Troublefield survives as a hunter in the dark, protecting the love of his life, Star Windsong. Their lives change the day they see a neighbor’s light turn on. Ecstatic, they discover that the United States is quietly accepting young DZs in exchange for electricity, and they offer themselves for the power that will save her sick younger brother.
P.S. If you are looking to incorporate a symbol, a phoenix made of fire would look cool!
