The book design Professional Designer came up with was excellent. It took a while for the designer to fully understand what I was looking for--we had to go through a number of versions. But once we had it, designer worked very quickly to make adjustments and revisions.
Excellent designer. Highly recommend.
Excellent designer to work with. Very responsive to changes. Understood my questions and instructions without repeating them. Love his sharing of his own thoughts which showed excellent interaction with the project.
This designer is amazingly talented and was great to work with. I will definitely work with her again in the future.
How michaelguillebeau started their book cover journey
Don of the Q
Michael Guillebeau has published 5 novels, 2 with covers from 99Designs. His 2017 book, MAD Librarian, was the Humor Book of the Year, thanks in part to a great cover. Both covers that I've gotten here have been fabulous, and both have differed from my initial suggestion. Please be creative.
YA Dark Humor. Think a cross between Dr. Strangelove and the Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. Don of the Q is Don Quixote for the Atomic Age. Don is an 18-year-old clerk in the Quick Stop (the Q) convenience store, who has lost his memory and thinks he's an angel and a hero. He and his pal, Sancha, wear black pants and oversized black sweatshirts with a fiery "Q" on it, with padding to make them look bigger. They ride black electric Razor scooters with bike seats, and Don carries a black 2x4 as a lance. There is a missing atomic bomb that may destroy the world unless Don saves it (hence, the red-orange background cover.
Late teen/early adults with a dark sense of humor and a liberal sense of politics.
What colors do you want to see in your design?
I want the cover to call to mind Picasso's Don Quixote, with an electric scooter, instead of a horse, against a background that suggests a big explosion.
