This is a self help book. This book is about emotional healing and finding purpose in your life.
What's your vision?
I'm looking to have 2 book covers designed an ebook and print book (including front, back and spine). Print book dimensions will be for an 8" x 5", however the exact dimension will come later. Words used to describe the feel of the cover are: hopeful, simple, and soothing. The gender of the cover is 60/40 female to male respectively. As for the color of the cover I imagine something along the lines of a turquoise/aqua/sea form green. If you can access a Dunn Edwards paint chips “Crystal River” or “Plunging Waterfall” will give you an idea of what I’m after. I see the title of the book in kind of a burnt orange (Dunn Edwards paint chips Citrus Honey or Bittersweet). On the cover I picture a simple upward spiral. The spiral is shaped like an upside down cone, meaning the bottom is the pointy side and the diameter expands as the spiral ascends. I don’t want a spiral that looks like a spring. The spiral should only have a couple three revolutions. The spiral should begin at the bottom in a dark color (like a stormy grey) and transition to a light color (sky blue or white or something else) as the spiral ascends. The spiral is symbolic of starting at an emotional dark place then working yourself up in a cyclical fashion till you come to a lighter place. The transition of color of dark to light is symbolic of weathering a bad storm till the sun comes out again. I intend to turn the upward spiral into a company logo. If spiral you create can be used in as a logo even better. With that said, I read in an article that an author should not design there own book cover. I am not married to my idea of the book cover. If you have a general feel of what I'm aiming for with a different design idea, please submit it. Your design could open a possibility I never could have imagined. Here is a description of the book. Feeling understood is a basic human need. But when was the last time you felt understood? Feeling understood is a need that goes largely neglected. This neglect contributes to anxiety, depression, frustration, and a decreased sense of self-worth. A lack of feeling understood can even prevent you from finding purpose. What happens when you feel understood? Someone has put in the time and effort to understand you. You experience love and appreciation. It feels good. It feels like love. Feeling understood is at the very heart of feeling free and safe to be who you are, to connect with feeling of passion, and to endure difficult times with conviction. Amazingly you can experience feeling understood through self-understanding. The experience of love and appreciation still come through, even though time and effort are coming from you and not someone else. Feel Your Truth equips you to move beyond emotional barriers that hold you back. Feel Your Truth helps you feel understood through self understanding. Feel Your Truth changes the way you experience yourself by changing how you feel.
The title of the book is "Feel Your Truth" subtitle Liberate self love on your path to purpose. Here are some book covers.
