In different ways both of us have been plucky, risk-taking mavericks who never settled for the status quo. Kath got to the top of her game by being one of the first women MDs for an international recruitment firm and Kate set up the first women’s network for the UK arm of a global professional services firm whilst developing their public sector Diversity Practice from a standing start. In both instances, we worked in overtly male industries and left our mark. We individually came to the same conclusion around 2008 that we could make it on our own. Long before we developed our joint business, we created our own individual, successful brands as coaches and facilitators.

This book introduces the background and philosophy of our approach in which we weave coaching and therapy to bring transformation and integration using colour as the principal modality. As coaches we feel that there is a need for a fresh perspective in leadership and organisational development. To date, most of the seminal works in the field have been written by men with a focus on the next great model. This only takes organisations so far. A new paradigm for doing business is emerging, where the feminine leadership traits of connection, collaboration and creativity take centre stage. We show why this is happening and what is required of leaders today in order for businesses to thrive.

We are writing for Organisational Development (OD) practitioners, coaches and facilitators, as well as our primary audience Executives in the C-Suite. Most of our work is with Boards of companies so typically our clients are in their 30s, 40s and 50s and they are global based in UK, US and Australasia at present. They are busy people with hectic schedules who travel quite frequently.

We definitely need a colourful cover and an image that is memorable and hits the audience. We help leaders to slow down, be first then do and to build firm foundations in terms of their own emotional intelligence/ consciences and our website has a bricks image so building on that might work. Or something with more free-flow or i see a beautiful tapestry-legacy idea. For font again something more hand-crafted and unique. We have a knowledge -led audience, more corporate in nature so need to attract and appeal to them without being boring or sober or conservative.
