Florin Rosoga got their new book cover by running a design contest:
Design a eyecatching book cover for "24 Hours" Romanian book on time management and personal product
Check out Florin Rosoga's Book cover contest…
About me & this project: ================ I am a Romanian self-help blogger and own the most visited Romanian blog on this topic. The cover is for a new book I will publish. It is about personal productivity and time-management & it is written in Romanian, so the cover has to be in this language (I will provide you translations for all the elements of it). I need front/back cover design. About the intended audience: =================== The audience is Romanian people interested in personal development and changing their lifes. The majority of the audience are readers of my blog and many of them bought my past books (this is the 4th book I publish). 80% of them are women, 21-49 years old.
What's your vision?
Text on the cover: ============ Title: "24 de Ore" (24 Hours) Subtitle: "Schimbă Pentru Totdeauna Felul in Care Lucrezi și Reinventează-ți Viitorul" (Change Forever the Way you Work and Reinvent Your Future) Author name: "Florin Roșoga" Notes: "de la autorul cărții "Arta Dezvoltării Personale" și a Jurnalului "Transformarea" " (from the author of the book "The Art of Personal Development" and the journal "The Becoming") This cover will also be used when promoting the book. Most of the promotion will be online, so the cover has to be really eyecatching and help people make the connection about the book and changing your life. About the book: ========== The book contains advices and tips on how to become more productive and change your future. Even if the book is about time-management and productivity, the main concept it promotes is that you can reinvent your life by changing the way you live and work. So it has to do something on being alive and passionate. On refusing mediocrity and wanting more from life. The book will be 185*125 mm, 150 pages Look: ==== Maybe I would put a big 24 (from the title) and arrange the rest of the elements to have the cover as I wrote earlier. Clean design, easy to understand and most of all - eyecatching. But you can come with any of your own idea. I prefer graphic elements instead of photos/pictures (they look better on print). Notes: ========The winner of this contest will provide the fully layered PSD file (Photoshop latest version) of his design and 3D renderings of the front and back of the book. All non-standard fonts supplied with the file. The resolution must be at least 300dpi and the size should at least 2000 pixels width.
On the back cover I will include some data about the author (around 70 words) with its picture and 2 praises for the book (around 200 words). Since I dont have at this point the text, please put a general text there and I will replace it with my own version. Any used graphic MUST be royalty free and legally usable on the cover. Any such element you use MUST be original or free from any infringements so that I can use it. My blog address is http://florinrosoga.ro/blog/. My other products are here http://produse.florinrosoga.ro/. Till now I created the covers for my previous books by working with designers or by doing them myself. This is the first project I post on 99D. If any question, please let me know. If you need anything else to help you do your job, don't hesitate to ask for. Thanks and I hope we will work together.
