William Powell is The Leadership Advisor, a speaker and executive advisor who is determined to make human flourishing the 21st century metric for success. For over 15 years he has successfully worked with industry leaders from around the globe to develop and sustain healthy and sustainable business performance by focusing on helping the humans - that make it all possible - to flourish first...the organization will flourish as a result of this. William views human flourishing as the root, and profitability as the fruit. Working primarily in the field of Organization Development throughout the bulk of his professional life, William has developed significant expertise in the areas of leadership development, organizational culture, and employee engagement. While William has lived in four countries, he currently lives in Cincinnati, Ohio with his wife and daughter. He is creative, a bit eccentric, playful, witty, and prides himself on being a productive business heretic.
Leadership, culture, and engagement are critical to the success of any organization. The typical approach is to address each of these individually; however, they are inextricably linked with one another. Interconnected provides a framework that allows leaders to address all three simultaneously, as a means to achieve business outcomes, while still honoring the human element within their organizations.
Progressive thinking Executives, Human Resources leaders, and influential consulting partners. Typical age range is 45 years or older. Primary sector is the service sector, but light manufacturing (chemistry, pharmaceutical, robotics, etc.) could be a secondary market.
Book cover type
Don’t know yet
Since the title is Interconnected, something that represents that concept graphically would be great. A white background with multiple colors would be ideal. I really like the cover of Adam Grant's book "Originals". The target audience are professionals, but progressive thinkers. I want to make the creative nature of connecting at the human level fun and appealing to this group. The goal is to elicit the sense that reading this book makes them feel like it is a group of thought leaders they "need" to belong to.
What to avoid
Anything that looks too stuffy or what most people view as "Executive". This includes any images, fonts, and basic structure of design. The goal of the book, therefore the cover as well, is to show executives how to change their thinking regarding how they operate their companies - so, the cover should represent that shift in thinking about that group.
It all began with a design brief.

And then… they selected a winner!
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
We think contests are a super fun way to get design.
