aydreel got their new book cover by running a design contest:
Design a cover for a new upcoming Young Adult novel

A young upcoming author using his student loans to pay for a fantastic book cover. A big fan of minimalist art and a true believer in "less is more."
Brayden McCormick was learning how to drive before his first day back at school. While practicing, he accidentally hits someone at high speed. He then discovers that the victim was not only unharmed but none other than Matt Kohr, the boy who went missing and was presumed dead for a year. Matt reveals himself as a werewolf and ropes Brayden into the crosshairs of a bloodthirsty, serial killing Alpha Werewolf, the most dangerous of Matt’s kind. With many failed attempts to escape this violent world, Brayden eventually uncovers a major secret revolving around his Japanese heritage that causes him to reluctantly embrace his role in this newfound supernatural reality. All the while making sure he maintains good grades and performs well on the soccer field.
My target audience is people aged 15-25 who are intrigued with supernatural mythology blending with a murder mystery.
Book cover type
Don’t know yet
The dimensions I am looking for are ideally 2,560px x 1,600px with a 1.5:1 aspect ratio as it is the most recommended for book covers. Still, if there are better dimensions that can convert easily to ebooks, then that is okay. I already have a logo designed using the Bebas Neue font. I want the author's name and tagline to be in the same font in the same white color; that way, it can keep the simplistic nature of the book cover, but if you believe there is a better font for the author's name, and tagline, be my guest. One of the settings in the book is a national park, so ideally, I would like to include a tree or a forest of some kind. Fire also plays a significant role in this story, so I would appreciate adding a couple of flames. Finally, I would like all of it to be different shades of orange, with all of the text in white. That way, it can make the vibrant appearance of the cover while the imagery will capture that sense of mystery. I want the title to be front and center in big letters, which can grab the reader's attention at first glance.
What to avoid
Avoid using any color that is not orange or white. I only want those two colors on the cover to fit within the style I am going for. I will make a potential exception for the color black being included creatively. I also recommend avoiding the use of detailed art; I will accept a minimal amount of detailed art if it fits within the cover but, for the most part, stick within the minimalist style.

And then… they selected a winner!
He was extremely helpful and responsive to work with. He agreed and made suggestions and changes accordingly. I look forward to working with him and seeing more of his work in the future.
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
