This Time Next Summer
Moses Yuriyvich Mikheyev
Moses Yuriyvich Mikheyev is a Russian-American novelist who studied theology and philosophy at Whitworth University before obtaining his graduate degree in theological studies from Emory University. He is the author of The Hack, Strange Deaths of the Last Romantic, Bodies: A Romantic Bloodbath, and the children’s book Olivia & The Gentleman from Outer Space. He is also a folk-rock musician. He lives and loves in Los Angeles.
She was beautifully broken. And his everything. Hurt and scarred by every man in her life, Jasmine had vowed to never love again. Then she meets Avgust, and her broken heart resumes beating. A romantic idealist who measures love by his poetry output, Avgust had given up on finding that elusive once-in-a-lifetime kind of love he’d always dreamed of. But the moment he spies Jasmine in a coffee shop, he knows unequivocally that she is his Her—the woman who will change his life. It was the perfect love story. Until the secrets and betrayals of the past threaten to break them apart. Will their love be strong enough to save Jasmine from her past, and Avgust from his future?
People who read romances, sad romances, dark romances, or young adult books. Similar to John Green’s The Fault in Our Stars.
Book cover type
Looking for a cover that sells me a dark, tragic, sad summer romance! I included a purchased stock image of a Ferris wheel. You can include it in the cover design IF YOU THINK IT ADDS SOMETHING TO YOU CREATIVITY. If you feel like you don’t need it, don’t feel like you HAVE to use it. You don’t. Just give me a good cover that SELLS this book. Cover also needs to convey sad/dark romance like the following book covers: All This Time by Mikki Daughtry, They Both Die At the End by Adam Silvera, and Everything I Never Told You by Celeste Ng.
What to avoid
It really needs to be a cover that is clickable and sellable. My last cover performed poorly with audiences so we are redoing it now.
It all began with a design brief.
A quick, interactive guide helped them understand their design style and captured exactly what they needed in their book cover.
Designers across the globe delivered design magic.

And then… they selected a winner!
I was so impressed by Wonderburg’s work in my first design project that I immediately started a new project for a book that’s only half written!
Imagine my surprise when the new project design, which couldn’t be more different than the previous, is even slicker - Wonderburg absolutely nailed the design on the first attempt and it only grew from there.
As with the first project, the designer was available around the clock to make any changes, innovated with her fantastic ideas and provided multiple variants of the final product that are each so good I’m considering adding some of them to the back of the book.
Thank you so much again - you’ll be my first point of contact for any future work!
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
We think contests are a super fun way to get design.
