Synopsis: This book is a memoir based on my experiences traveling, studying and living in France as a young woman, although names have been changed. As a high school French student, a homestay experience on a farm with a family in France changed my life forever: I fell in love with the country, its language and culture. The story follows me as I return to France time and again, visiting my host family in the North, exploring the South of France, and finally living for a year in Toulouse through a college study abroad program. The bulk of the story takes place during my year in Toulouse as a twenty year old student, where I make international friends, skip class in order to travel Europe, visit my distant French relatives in the South, and try my hand at dating Frenchmen. Throughout the adventure, I improve my French language skills, embrace and then reject French culture, and make and loose many friends and lovers along the way. This is a story about loving the idea of a foreign country as experienced during short stays, and then struggling with the reality of actually living there. Target audience: The target audience for this book is women of all ages (and perhaps men too) who are Francophiles and/or love traveling. This book would appeal to those who have studied or lived abroad as a way to relive their experience. This book would also appeal to those who have not yet had the chance to travel or live abroad and could serve as an "armchair travel" experience.
What's your vision?
File Format / Dimension Requirements for kindle book publishing: a .jpg or .tif(f) file at least 1000 pixels on the longest side ideal image height/width ratio is 1.6 (example: 1000 x 1600) Information to Include on the Cover: Title [Pas Possible: Falling in and out of Love with France] Author [Jessica L. Pasa] I would like a simple drawing depicting at once the ups and downs of living in France: students having a picnic in the grass when it starts pouring rain; a girl walking down a beautiful cobblestone street steps right in dog poop; waiting in a long line at the grocery store while the cashiers chat idly. The drawing does not have to be one of the situations described above, but it should match the theme.
