JJ
Hi, we're JJ (central European time zone).
We research nutrition and are self-publishing a book of dessert recipes that are delicious and healthful.
The target audience: chocoholics, or home kitchen enthusiasts who want great desserts without dentists, diabetes or allergies. Generally people who are not afraid to experiment and spend time in the kitchen.
A book cover for a cookbook titled "Nature's Bounty: A Treasury of Nourishing Dessert Delights". It features 21 favorite recipes without
sugar/artificial sweeteners, wheat/gluten, dairy, alcohol, vegetable oil and artificial additives (basically everything in most of today's unhealthy desserts).
We would like to emphasize this list ("without sugar ... additives") on the cover because it is one of the main points.
There are also 33 'Freakonomics for the kitchen' sidebars (ice cream
physics instead of additives, a timing trick that lets us eat more dessert, how much chocolate gives maximum benefit).
The sidebars are carefully researched, with 160 citations to scientific articles. This is unusual for cookbooks, so it would be good to mention something like "Backed by 160 scientific references".
Ideally a cover would remind us of some of these descriptions: natural, simple colors found in nature (no neon pink), uncluttered.
Looks we'd rather avoid: intricate/fancy, too cute/childish, scary, geeky, "mad scientist".
It would be good to have space for at least 3 different photos to show "bounty" (= many). We've attached some 'candid' photos and will add better ones.
There's also lots of text, and we'd like to keep it readable (simple fonts rather than handwritten/cursive).
The image should be 1875 x 2850 pixels (PNG format is preferred).
We will offer a PDF version, ebook and possibly also print.
As promised, we have guaranteed the contest. If we like a cover, we will provide private feedback :)
