What's your vision?
I would like a book cover design for a book I'm writing called: Show Me, Don't Tell Me "How to Bring Your Ideas to Life through Rapid Prototyping" The book is written for anyone who has ever had an idea, and regretted not taking it forward. It puts the tools of design thinking and the inventor’s mind into the hands of the everyday person. It aims to equip people to build their ideas by bringing the tools of designers and inventors, into their hands. It aims to craft the habit and the mindset of creation, by inspiring people to ‘do’. I want a simple, professional design. One with a 3D feel to it, like you could pick-up objects off the page. I want objects that give the reader a 'maker' feel, like they are about to design something; or like something that represents technology, represented in a prototyped, 3D-paper fashion, like something out of a paper engineering or popup book. Simple, professional, 3D feel, eye-trickery, things that inspire someone to get their hands on some design tools and build something!
I need the full front, back and spine design. Dimensions could be for a book 5.5 x 8.5 inches. Will need space on the back for an author photo and back-cover blurb. I like flat titles, 3D text is not the look I am going for. Instead, I'm looking for images or imagery that gives the feel of depth, or coming off the page. I'm looking for imagery that is relevant to design, tech, paper prototyping, creating something, design tools (drafters tools, exacto knives, rulers, markers, colors), etc. I don't want to guide too much, because I don't want to lose your own expertise and creativity in the process. Hope this helps!
