I am a freelance B2B marketing copywriter specializing in technology and software. You can learn more about me at http://www.copyengineer.com.
The target audience is marketing managers, directors and VPs at technology and software companies. This target audience frequently offers white papers through print and online promotions, in order to generate leads for their sales team.
What inspires you and how do you envision the design for your business?
I need a cover for a 24-page special report that I will offer for free on my website and in direct mail and email campaigns to my target audience.
Report Title: 10 Common Mistakes that Kill White Paper ROI
Subtitle: How to Avoid them and Generate More Leads
I need the full-size cover image, in both Letter and A4 sizes, which will be inserted into a Microsoft Publisher document (and then converted to PDF). No back cover is needed.
I will also need a print-quality thumbnail to use in a print sales letter and on my website.
The title of the report must be legible when the cover is reduced to thumbnail size.
The thumbnail image should include a drop shadow and a fan of pages behind the cover to give an impression of substance (see the attached example from a previous report).
Please don’t include my company logo on the cover. But do include the phrase "A CopyEngineer Special Report."
As far as concepts go, I don’t want to limit or direct anyone’s imagination. So I’ll just say that what I want is something that:
1. Looks more polished, professional and interesting than what I’ve had on my previous reports,
2. Looks appropriate for the technology market,
3. Should appeal to a marketing professional in a business-to-business environment.
