My platform is to encourage moms to bring a love of science to their daughters
What's your vision?
Book Title: She Loves Science: A mother-daughter guide to cultivating her curiosity, growing her confidence, and empowering her future Author’s name: Tracy Borgmeyer She Loves Science is a book about • inspiring mom's to bring science to their daughters • helping mom's give her daughter confidence to pursue science • giving moms information to help promote STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) as an exciting career for her daughter to change the world This book calls on moms to remember when they enjoyed science as children before they started becoming fearful or doubtful of their abilities as adults. My hope is to use this nostalgia and confidence to then share their love of science with their daughters. The main goals of the cover design are: • Clearly stand out on the Amazon as a small thumbnail, as well as a 5.5”X8.5” printed book • The imagery should appeal to moms and make science look approachable and fun. My current logo is a science beaker with flowers. (The thought is that when your daughter gives you flowers you can choose what vessel to place it in – why not metaphorically in an object relating to science?) I’m open to modifying the image or going a different direction altogether. • The color palettes I currently use in my blog can be seen in the uploaded image but I’m open to other color palettes Here are a few book covers that appeal to me: • Something Borrowed by Emily Giffin • Love the One you’re with by Emily Giffin • The 5 Love Languages of Children by Gary D Chapman • Nobody’s Cuter than You by Melanie Shankle • Maker Dad by Mark Frauenfelder
