They provide their songs of prayer to the high-born and the low-born without prejudice or hidden motive. Their mission is to provide peace and euphony to those who seek it. But their movements are constantly watched and monitored by the fearsome Order of Black Hounds whose duty and god-given purpose is to eradicate music - in all its forms - to prevent the corruption of the living souls. This is the story of a boy, Elis, who was left to die by a mentally anguished mother - but was saved by the wandering minstrel-monks. He was cared for, trained and educated by them to be one of the last music-bearers in the world. Now he will complete his mission, while those sworn to hunt him must try to destroy him.
