What's your vision?
I am completing the final edits to my book called "Game On." I need the book cover designed. It is a sequel to my first book: The Controlled (see info at www.thecontrolledbook.com ). Because it is a sequel, it needs to have flow with the first book; however, the action in the first book was extremely sexual in nature, as the main character was being sexually manipulated and blackmailed. This book has same main character, but she is not sexually manipulated, the action is more one in which she is on a quest to get to the bottom of her husband's illegal business activities. He is deeply involved with a Cuban cartel and there is human / gun trafficking, murder, kidnapping criminal activities she comes face to face with. I don't want the cover to have a sexual feel like the first one, but more of a "woman taking control of her life and facing bad guys" feel. Setting is both in Cuba and in Miami. Originally I was only going to have the front cover designed because I do not have the spine measurements yet. However, I will now also need the back cover and spine designed after all. The back cover and spine will have no images other than the ISBN, author photo and my logo. I have uploaded quick photos of the first book to see how simple it is. I will need the final winner to also send me a copy of the file so I can adjust the spine width once the editing is complete or be willing to do the quick adjustment for me. Here is the working blurb for the back of the book cover: Sarah breathed a sigh of relief. After a tumultuous year, the FBI finally had her abusive, controlling ex-husband Alex in custody and it appeared that she could finally get on with her own life. Her vacation in Barbados gave her the break she needed to prepare for her bright future. But Sarah was unprepared for what awaited her in Miami. In the follow-up to The Controlled, Sarah Ruiz follows a mystery to learn the secrets that were hidden from her for years. The lies about Alex's past, his family, and his business - all of which hold the potential to destroy her and her children. To survive, Sarah must match Alex's manipulation with a strategy of her own. It's Game On!
You can check out the first book at www.thecontrolledbook.com where you can watch a book trailer and see the cover. In the sequel the direction of the book changes and Sarah tries to gain control of her life again. The story line is not as erotic as the The Controlled so the cover needs to portray her in a stronger role. The final cover measurements would be 13.3x20.3 cm (same size as The Controlled).
