A Frog in the Fjord- One Year in Norway
Lorelou is French and has lived in Norway for 11 years. She is trained as a Jurist in International human rights law and uses her spare time to write on Norwegian culture with humour. She is also the author of a best-seller in Norway, manages the blog A Frog in the Fjord and is a columnist in Norway's biggest newspaper. Visit www.lorelou.com to get a better idea about her work.
The book that needs a cover has been published in Norwegian in 2017 and was a best seller. Now I want to self publish it in English since I have quite a large audience on my blog and social media. Storyline: The main character (inspired by the author's life) arrives in Norway on a dark winter day at the age of 26, she has moved there for work and knows nothing about the place and the people. During one year, she will go through all the phases of discovering the strange habits of the Norwegian people. From cross country skiing to trying to date a Viking, or learning Norwegian, Lorelou takes us on a journey of discovering Norway as a country and loving the Norwegians for who they are. A Frog in the Fjord is a reference to French people typically called frogs or froggies and fjords which are mainly found in Norway.
There is a rising interest for Scandinavia world-wide, with books and articles about Scandinavian concepts (hygge, lagom, friluftsliv etc) and how should be adopted by all. Readers can therefore be: anyone interested in Scandinavia but not speaking a Scandinavian language, foreigners moving to Norway (for work or for love), Americans with Norwegian heritage (around 5 million people), anyone interested in reading travel literature and humour travel and romance stories, people living outside of Norway who are married to a Norwegian or dating one. Readers of the blog A Frog in the Fjord. Probably women are more likely to buy this book.
