Bhemoth: Amazon Rising
Dr. Robin Gaster is an expert on innovation, growth, and small business. He runs a consulting company that has worked extensively with the National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Medicine, as well as private companies like Deloitte and Siemens, Federal agencies including NIST and NSF, and international clients including the governments of Sweden and Finland as well as the EU. His research has been published in Foreign Policy and The Atlantic. He is married with 2 children, and lives in Silver Spring MD where he is also a commissioner of the local youth soccer league and a member of the Policing Advisory Board for Montgomery County.
Behemoth analyzes the most important business story of our time: Amazon's rise from tiny online bookstore to formidable goliath. It explains how Amazon emerged, and the complex interaction of culture, structure, process and resources that will drive future growth. It poses - and answers - the key questions: what is Amazon? And what should we do about it?
Business executives, policymakers, and people in particular in industries affected by Amazon - retail, publishing, IT, advertising, media, entertainment. Along with the general public.
Book cover type
1) I'm very open to non-literal covers in general. 2) However, it should in some way clearly reference Amazon. Readers need to know it;s about Amaozn from a distance. 3) it needs to capture the growth/dynamism of Amazon 3) Modern - the book needs to lean into the future This is on the right track: https://www.amazon.com/David-Epstein-Range-Generalists-Specialized/dp/B08158D8LP/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=range+generalists&qid=1591201272&sr=8-2
What to avoid
Not a standard business book - it's not a "how to compete with Amazon" book Not business-oriented primary colors Nor is it a "learn everything about selling on Amazon." This is a miss: https://www.amazon.com/Silk-Silicon-Globalization-Through-Extraordinary-ebook/dp/B06Y553PDK/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=silk+to+silicon&qid=1591201184&sr=8-1
