Disconnecting Discourse: (sub title) Responding to Sexual Assault on College Campuses
Natalie Spiert oversees sexual violence prevention, education and support for The Ohio State University as Assistant Director of Sexual Civility and Empowerment. Holding a Masters in Social Work and Bachelors in the Arts, she constantly dismantles obstacles caused by bureaucracy and ignorance. Natalie pioneers the self-created Holistic Healing Model, an intervention method used to support the long-term healing of victims/survivors. Natalie was a speaker at TEDxColumbusWomen in May 2015, delivering a talk about the lack of sex education in secondary schooling and its contribution to the increased rate of sexual assaults on college campuses.
Sexual violence within American higher education is in the spotlight but current solutions often miss the mark. This not only damages the students but also the university and surrounding community. Factors like, young people don’t understand their own bodies is why this social epidemic infecting the college experience could be the solution we’re not talking about.
This book is for higher and secondary education administrative professionals, faculty members as well as social workers, counselors, and advocates working with college student populations. This book could also serve as an informative tool for parents and college-aged students.
Book cover type
Don’t know yet
A clean modern design. I really like patterns and geomatic designs/shapes. Gender neutral. Modern bold sharp fonts. My favorit artist is M.C. Esher and really like tessellations images. I think tessellations designs are in line with the context of the book. The concept, you think you know what you're looking at but if you look hard you see something completely different.
What to avoid
I hate stock photos. Gender neutral. I do not want anything that implies that only women are sexual assaulted. Nothing cliche! Nothing dark and depressing.
Every design category has flexible pricing for all budgets. Book cover starts at $299.

And then… they selected a winner!
This was the best experience for me here on 99designs. This designer did catch my idea on how to present scientific data on a cover art very quick and provided the best design that exceeded my expectations. Very easy to work with and very friendly. The cover art was selected by chief editor of a world class journal Nature Medicine and was published.
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
We think contests are a super fun way to get design.
