We need a thought-provoking cover design for an unusual book that documents the transformation of a hardened criminal to an enlightened spiritual teacher. The cover (front and back) can be purely typographic or include graphics/images, but it should be contemporary and give a feeling of spirituality, without being too Buddhisty/religious. We prefer neutral tones with pops of colour. This is the second book in the series. A copy of the first book cover (Within these Streets) is included herewith. This second book does not necessarily need to connect with the first book, but you will see how this cover gives a feeling of spirituality without being clichéd. Key words: spiritual, transformation, wisdom, self-development, enlightenment, Here are some extracts to help with development of themes/imagery: ¬ when all hope seemed lost, the shackles were broken and my life was set free ¬ an inexplicable flame had been lit deep down inside ¬ as if the very sun shone within my soul ¬ I’d put my weight against a well-established wall of belief and it had fallen down ¬ my ambition had to break through the unconscious framework of the limiting ego ¬ clearing obstacles along the pathway to my goals was my own responsibility ¬ I see my heart dreaming and my mind trying to batter the optimism out of it ¬ the reservoir of ‘life’ encourages great expansion ¬ we keep the pathways clear Here is a brief extract that may be inspirational: The allegory of Brambles (blackberry bushes) encroaching on the path of life One particular night, while strolling through a meadow, I found the well-worn paths easy to follow due to the light of a bright blue moon. All around were huge bramble bushes that did all they could to stretch forth their tentacle-like branches and reclaim the paths, but, due to the regular footfalls of walkers, they were denied. From time to time, I’d trip on an encroaching branch and it was then that it occurred to me that the battle between the bushes and pathways never stopped. Then I heard the following question arise from within. “How are the paths preserved?” “By the walkers,” I thought. It seemed obvious. “We keep the pathways clear.” Suddenly, the question shifted its focus to the goals of life. “And how are the pathways of your life goals preserved?” Such spiritual questions tend to carry the answers rolled up within them and I saw at once what I needed to see. Normal mental thought cannot comprehend such things, but the higher self (the true life, or spirit inside us) is fully able. “The goals are clear along the pathway.” I could see it in my mind. “The brambles are poisonous thoughts – the doubts and emotional disturbances that encroach.” “It’s entirely your responsibility to keep your own pathways clear,” came the inner voice once more.
