The Coming Apocalypse: How to Dress for Success
Kevin Carter Smith
With a degree in chemistry and a passion for emergency preparedness, Kevin Smith has tested clothing that combines metals with science to protect the wearer from viruses, bacteria, and rough terrain. He tested the clothing in all climates, hiking and camping in six continents. Impressed with all their functionality, he has felt inspired to help others build an essential emergency preparedness wardrobe. He is no stranger to helping others. As a member of the California Bar, he has represented homeless people, along with the Salvation Army, to help them get back on their feet and prosper and does missionary work all over the globe. While he enjoys helping people from all walks of life, he is most proud of the work he has done in his own home: raising two sons who are well prepared to take care of their families in any emergency. He has the heart of a father and believes his role is to provide, protect, bless, and establish his children’s identity. This desire to protect his children and you (by writing this book) flows from his heart. Although physical protection is important, this disaster protection needs to be achieved holistically, giving equal weight to the mental, emotional and spiritual components of disaster preparedness. He hopes his readers wake up from their normalcy bias and prepare for the next disaster.
The silver lining - High Tech silver infused fabrics form the basis of your wardrobe. It’s easy to live in denial, to think disasters won’t happen to you, to drink the normalcy bias Kool-Aid. But with those thoughts, you won’t prepare yourself, and then when—not if, but when—disaster strikes, you will be swimming in that denial river upstream without a paddle. Time is of the essence as the four horsemen of the apocalypse are running, and our time to prepare is almost over. Do something today. While a variety of sources address apocalypse preparedness, one aspect flies under the radar: wardrobe preparedness. This book addresses how the right clothes make a difference when the apocalypse comes. You must start now as the global supply chain is broken, making it harder to get clothing from China. In How to Dress for Success, Kevin Smith shows you step-by-step how to build a wardrobe over time by: • Getting the silver bullet for your wardrobe • Prepacking your wardrobe • Preparing for the layered approach • Having good summer wear, winter wear, shoes, and headwear • Putting together a minimalist hygiene kit Apocalypses, small and large, are happening around you. These wardrobe items have been field-tested in harsh conditions over the past ten years—and they work. They will keep you clean, smelling good, and prepared for all conditions.
Regular everyday people, backpackers and preppers who need to prepare for the next disaster. The book is a how-to guide on building a light weight A-Pack (Apocalypse Pack or go-bag) which contains pre packed essential clothing that can be carried out the door at a moments notice when disaster strikes
Book cover type
I am looking for a cover that shows a person transitioning from their normal clothing to the new normal clothing due to a disaster. It is the wardrobe that will form a critical or bridge to successfully transfer to the new normal. The base layers are key as the silver infused fabric will destroy bacteria, fungi, viruses and germs since you may not have time or resources to wash your clothes or self for days as you navigate through a disaster. Here is an example of the baselayers: https://www.kleenfabrics.com/pages/kleen-technology The outer layers are typical sturdy high tech fabrics used by backpackers which can be found at rei.com for examples.
