I have worked with a variety of dogs at home and my dog walking business. With two Rhodesian Ridgebacks of my own, I have trained some of the most stubborn breeds, and figured out what does and doesn’t work. I started off with dogs when I was 24 years old. I had wanted my own dog all my life, but grew up in a home that raised horses instead. As a child and young adult, I learned to train animals by riding and coaching horses, but I still never gave up on owning dogs. When I was finally able to adopt my own puppy, I chose a Rhodesian Ridgeback, known as a fairly difficult breed to train. I was told this was not a great choice for a first-time dog owner, but took the challenge anyway, and adopted a second Ridgeback a few years later. This started my passion for dog training, and I am now the proud owner of two very well-trained adult Ridgebacks. I have learned many tricks through the years, and have been inspired to share them with other dog owners with a desire to hold their pups behavior to a higher standard. As a life-long dog lover, I have crafted a guide to share my experience in the form of step-by-step training exercises and other informative insights.
