I enjoyed working with Beaux Arts. She understood the vision I wanted for the book cover, listened to my suggestions and responded quickly with revisions.

How sharrison2000 started their book cover journey
Yearning in New York
This is a contemporary "sweet romance" (no sex). It takes place in New York. It's about a woman, alone in NYC, who meets a man and falls in love. It's sentimental and feel good.
99.9% women - late 30s and upwards.

What colors do you want to see in your design?
I want this to look CLASSY and not out of place among the established best-selling romance authors. I really like the Danielle Steel covers, as they're not tacky or cheap looking, nor are they 'comedy' type books. However I am totally open to suggestions from creative designers so if you have a great idea, hit me with it.
The design really needs to combine two things: romance and New York. Although several of my examples don't have people on them, I'm unsure if this is right for me so suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
What to avoid
Garish neon colours and simplistic, tacky-looking designs (but I suppose tacky is in the eye of the beholder).
Like the woman looking out towards the Eiffel Tower and the contrast of colours and stormy sky.
My favourite. I like the prominence of the author's name and the font. The colours and the NYC landscape also appeal.
Lovely use of the red with the snow.
Beautiful colours - don't know how it would work for my concept but it's very striking.
