No Unwholesome Word
(Designer note: feel free to crop the author photo however you see fit. I've never filled out this brief before, so I'm assuming the text here is just to give you background information on me.) I'm a Director at an education technology startup. I travel across the country doing motivational speaking in front of thousands of students and educators each year. I'm a Christian who writes about Biblical truth with a strong, edgy tone of voice. Really, all I have is one message: "Meet God where you're at, and do something different in your life today."
"No Unwholesome Word" is a non-fiction Christian book that explores the impact of words, how they can damage us, and how wisdom from the Bible can arm you to build a community around you with life-giving words and encouragement. One piece of information that may be helpful from a design perspective is that chapter titles of the book are meant to guide the reader from words that tear people down to words that build people up (adding these words into your design does not automatically make it better, but I thought it would be good background information): 1. Death 2. Wounds 3. Fear 4. Silence 5. Reflect 6. Build 7. Revive 8. Victory 9. Life
Ages 18-28, Christian
Book cover type
** Contest is for both E-Book and Physical Book Cover ** I'm looking for simple, modern designs that are powerful. I've attached five examples. Designs like Examples 1 - 4 will be most likely to be selected, but I will also review great designs that pull off the simple/artistic style of Example 5.
What to avoid
I'd prefer you avoid Christian cliches (Cross, praying hands, etc) unless you can think of a fresh way to use them.
It all began with a design brief.
A quick, interactive guide helped them understand their design style and captured exactly what they needed in their book cover.
Designers across the globe delivered design magic.
OUrobertson collaborated with designers to refine their ideas
When design entries come in, you can rate them so designers know what you’re looking for in your logo design.
99designs has great collaboration tools so you can pinpoint and capture your ideas
And then… they selected a winner!
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
We think contests are a super fun way to get design.
