Heart Balm: Whispers and Word Potions
The book is a series of poems that take the reader on a journey of healing the 'Bruised Heart'. The poems are the compassionate witnessing of a range of human emotions - but from the perspective of flowers and trees. These are the Whispers. The Word Potions are the poems I have written as 'poetry medicine' for my clients.

The author envisages the book cover to feature the two large drawings (attached) – she's not sure whether Holly should go on the front or Pendulus Beech, but she is happy for designers to get creative with them. She has also said that she is not wedded to these illustrations and would be interested to see what designers make of the drawings. If they came up with something amazing that wasn’t Holly or Pendulus, then she would consider it. Most importantly, she wants the cover to be simple but ‘arresting’. A cover that she really likes in terms of inspiration is the poetry book "Weeds and Wildflowers" by Alice Oswald.
What to avoid
