Ever since Mark Anthony Riser’s mother passed away, he's been having close encounters with death. The fact that he chooses dangerous hobbies doesn't exactly help. While 'normal' sixteen-year-olds are out chasing girls, Mark struggles with the fact that he may have caused his mother's death. And although he gave up on coming to terms with that realization long ago, when he has an involuntary out-of-body experience an ethereal realm is suddenly revealed, turning his world and atheist convictions upside down. If he’s lucky, Mark may finally get his chance to reunite with his mother and seek her forgiveness. But lucky he's not, so instead he runs into Phasma Val-Fraux--The Guardian of Threshold whose sole job is to prevent anyone still alive from delving into the realm of the dead. Since it is Mark’s first infraction, Phasma lets him leave Threshold with the promise of certain death if he returns. However nothing can prevent Mark from searching for his deceased mother, after all, he’s faced death before and prevailed but after his best friend is kidnapped and taken into Threshold, Mark decides postpone his search and right the wrongs he’s set in motion. Hunted by Phasma’s army of Night-Dwellers and with the perils of Threshold intensifying, Mark stumbles across a much needed and unexpected ally: Nyx Seraphin--Phasma’s captive ‘daughter’--in exchange for her freedom she offers to help. Mark doesn’t have much time to find and rescue his best friend and with an army of voracious foes standing in his way, he'll will need more than his wits, if he’s going to survive, let alone succeed. Phasma will stop at nothing to get his ‘daughter’ back. For she alone holds the secret to his demise. To find his mother, Mark will need luck; to leave her, he’ll need all of his courage and strength.

I like the color and layout on the cover that I already designed, however the image in the middle needs to have a meaning which currently it doesn't. I wish to keep that same style with a much better/otherworldly image. But would entertain different designs as well as long as they are high aesthetic quality. What the book is about: A 16 year old teen discovers astral projection and hopes to be reunited with his dead mother. He and his friends embark into an adventure into Threshold where his find Phasma a evil and diabolic creature set on making his life miserable. I can give more description about Threshold and Phasma is needed as well. What would constitute an perfect image for the book: Anything that can depict astral projection/travel in a aesthetic pleasing way. Also images representing good/evil and threshold. The book also contains a dragon if that helps. Places in the book: NightPeaks -- Snowy montain peaks NightCliff Cave of Sorrows - Cavernous Phasma lair NightFalls -- a huge waterfall from Nightpeaks in the twilight river below. The Core -- a 5000 foot ocean drop into an active volcano. City of Lights --- a city made out of lights. Living Forest -- A living forest where buildings are on top of gigantic trees that connect to each other via an organic bridge. I hope this helps somehow.
