vern.buzarde got their new book cover by running a design contest:
Book cover to pull readers in
Check out vern.buzarde's Book cover contest…
Book cover for a speculative fiction / psychological thriller about a female protagonist who discovers the universe is simulated and is ending due to the fact the computer generating it requires an upgrade. Key images: sail boat - stars - aquatic version of snow globe - Octonion numbers / diagram - disintegrating Key colors: Orange yellow / teal
Fans of speculative fiction and psychological thrillers. Although it deals with advanced computers and physics it is more a human story and less sci fi
Book cover type
My concept would be to have the Octonion diagram (image attached) in the sky as a constellation among the other stars and is beginning to disintegrate. Somehow subtly give the impression that the world of the sail boat is in an aquatic version of a snow globe to convey that it is being simulated
It all began with a design brief.
A quick, interactive guide helped them understand their design style and captured exactly what they needed in their book cover.
Designers across the globe delivered design magic.
