Book cover (front and back, not inside design required). Trim size: A5. Spine width: 19.25 mm.
The word document contains the text for the back cover. This text should give you an idea of the book's content. (In a nutshell, the book proposes a non-material mind. The author's initial idea for a cover was of a human head with the skull opened up and showing soup for the brain. I'm sure you can improve on that.)
Book title: Mind Beyond Matter
Book Subtitle: How the Non-Material Self Can Explain the Phenomenon of Consciousness and Complete Our Understanding of Reality
Author: Gavin Rowland
The attached PNG file gives an idea of the lower part of the spine and what we typically put at the bottom of the back page. The designer can play around with spine designs, but they just need to leave room at the bottom of the back cover for the barcode and the Burdock information.
This is a serious book. The author (who is a psychiatrist) discusses quantum physics, cosmology. psychology and much else at the forefront of contemporary science. We need an eye-catching design that does not trivialise the seriousness of the book.
