What's your vision?
This project is for a book cover design, front, back and spine. I am writing a book about service and the life, lessons, and laughter I have encountered and created in Singapore, which has has been my home for 23 years. (I am originally from the USA.) The working title/subtitle is "The Joy of Service: Two Decades of Life, Lessons, and Laughter with Singapore's Service Guru." By Ron Kaufman, Author of the New York Times bestseller, Uplifting Service (or simply "New York Times bestselling author". You can see my other books at my Amazon Author page: http://www.amazon.com/Ron-Kaufman/e/B001JO8WS8 This cover should include my photograph (which we will shoot especially to match your design), or an illustration or caricature of me holding a balloon (which is my company's corporate icon). Note: I have included some stock shots of me for you to see what I look like, but you do NOT have to use these photos on the cover. Whatever position you determine works best, we will shoot the photo to match your design. Usually our balloons are red with the word UP in white (as you will see on my http://www.UpYourService.com website and http://www.RonKaufman.com/speaking page). But in this case, I want the balloon to actually have a treatment like the Singapore flag, which is HALF red on the top white red stars and crescent, and half white on the bottom. (You can Google it.) What else goes on the cover aside from the title, subtitle and author's name, and the photograph (in whatever position you decide) and the balloon? That is for you to decide. You might use a photograph of Marina Bay Sands (Google it) which is a hugely obvious visual icon of the country, or of the Singapore Merlion (Google that, too), which is another well-recognized icon. Final thought #1: This book will be purchased by tourists, expatriates living in Singapore, and locals - especially those who have been in one of my courses....and there are many thousands of them in the country. Final thought #2: The whole idea of the balloon could be replaced by a different treatment if you "see" another approach to this. I am not a designer, so the balloon idea is just the first one that made sense to me to convey "joy" and also be aligned with my company brand, UP! Your Service, and latest book, Uplifting Service. If you have another idea, that is absolutely fine with me! The cover should make you smile. It should make you curious. It should make you pick up the book. It should make you want to have a copy and bring it home to show and share with others.
