To Protect Mankind
Michael D. Komeshak
Mike Komeshak is a retired Senior Chief Petty Officer of the US Coast Guard who lives in northern Michigan. He enjoys traveling and likes the outdoors. His interests include history, especially ancient history, the mysteries of space, and discussions involving intellectual and philosophical topics. His books reflect stories along those lines.
To Protect Mankind is a fictional novel that deals with a secret society that unleashes a global pandemic.
Fans of science fiction and conspiracy theories. If I had to rate age-appropriateness, I would label my book somewhere between PG-13 and an R. Some minor cussing, lots of death (although not graphic or gory).
Book cover type
In my last contest on this site, someone submitted an image of a pair of hands cupping the Earth, which I found interesting. However, I would still like to see a wide variety of images and let the designers wow me with their imaginations. I'm very open to different ideas. The mood of the cover should reflect the fragility of Earth and its civilization, as the story involves a possible human extinction event at the hands of a wealthy secret society. P.S. If anyone is going to submit a cover with a masked man on it, keep in mind that, in the book, the race of the masked man named Loki is unknown, therefore no skin should be showing. Also, his mask is described as a "weird, skull-type death mask with jester-like features, something one might see at a Mardi Gras parade." I'm not saying that the cover should feature a masked man, but if you're going that route, then picture the character along those lines. It could also be the type of mask worn by doctors during the Black Death plague (with the long beak-you can google it). Thanks.
