Book Cover Design: "Don't Sniff the Glue: A Teacher's Misadventures in Education Reform"

My book targets two audiences within education: 1. teachers exhausted by the burdens and details of education reform (great teachers leaving the field as a result) 2. education policy officials creating the reform efforts that are crushing teachers/students. This is a collection of stories and reflections--satire mixed with serious. The objective: inspiring good people stay in the field, and power brokers to pause for a moment and really consider the effects of their policies on the little guy. I'm the little guy. My students aren't even heard. I also target entrepreneurs. I say we need them at the education reform table or they won't get the types of employees they've been demanding.
What's your vision?
I'm designing a book cover for my book: "Don't Sniff the Glue: A Teacher's Misadventures in Education Reform." I want a bold but simple cover that makes people say, "Wow, education has some problems...but maybe, if the world's not too messed up, there's hope." Things I'd consider: --minimalist --modern or historical fonts/graphics, depending on how it integrates with the theme. Could go either way. --bold and/or humorous --not too cluttered, yet says a lot with a graphic or two The story that inspired the title: I ran into student teachers looking for really expensive glue. I showed them cheap glue. "No, we have to have THIS." Their supervisor said so. There's a disconnect between education policy and front-line education. "Don't Sniff the Glue" refers to this story. On a deeper level, we can't accept bad policy as the status quo. My "Don't Sniff the Glue" is like "don't drink the kool-aid." Question the status quo. It'll be changing. An education revolution is coming--students, families, teachers, and good educational leaders want more. It's tough. There's hope. You can get an idea of my writing style at my blog, CafeCasey.com I made a Pinterest board of book covers I like along with reasons why I like them: http://www.pinterest.com/runningdmc/book-cover-design-ideas/ Know this: I know nothing about design, fashion, style, or matching colors. I go into clothing stores under duress and tell the salesperson, "It doesn't matter if I like it. Does it work?" So, you might have to assist me--this is my first book cover. I can speak to stories and specifics if you need more. I've compared education to Stalinism, talked about the real cost (in terms of time/emails) of requisitioning supplies, mocked red tape, and talked about funny and serious education stories leading up to "students deserve more."
The tone of this book is satire intertwined with serious. I'd love to do a play on not sniffing glue, but remain open to your thoughts. Clean and bold graphics are important to me. Beyond that, I'm open to your thoughts.
