How P.G.Peppers5114 started their book cover journey

In the west a man must make his own way. He is his own law and in times of trouble he is judge jury and executioner. There are things that a decent man will not tolerate.
What colors do you want to see in your design?
I read abunch of Edgar Rice Burroughs books when I was a boy. I like the Frank Frazetta type art covers. Like the cover for the "Mucker." The primal savagery of Frazettas art is compelling.
Two heroes-one is 250 poundsand red headed-savage and strong. The other is a gun slinger wiry and whip cord strong. I want the big guy wearing chaps and just busting out of his shirt with muscle. His hat hanging by a string and his red curly hair displayed. The little guy is ready to draw a gun with his hat low his almost skeletal face in shadow.--- Here is a scene from the book---The stranger rested his left hand on the grip of his pistol, locking his attention on Willis. Quick for a man his size, Hake stepped forward to monopolize on the man's mistake. Before the other man could react, he trapped the hand against the pistol butt, preventing the weapon from being drawn. "That's a bad idea son," he said. “He’ll kill you.”
"Get your hands off me you, big son of a bitch!" Struggling to free himself, the man drove a punch at Hake's head, which Hake batted aside effortlessly. Hake was a big man and strong from years of hard work. He controlled the other man with ease.
