Daniel Mistir is a college student in his last year at the University of California-Davis. He is from Sacramento, California. This is his first novel, with another novel, Pride of a Nameless Nation, to be released in early 2024. He is in his last year in college, concluding his Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering, with a minor in African and African American Studies. He is a self-published novelist hoping to find success not just in novels, but in the filmmaking business as well. He is a screenwriter and wishes to follow in the footsteps of many novelists who were trailblazers in both avenues. His staple of blending subtle romantic tones with minimalism was inspired by the work of independent novelists and filmmakers, a group of people who shift the minds of an audience intimately, one by one. His wishes to continue with the same purpose through films, poetry, and novels, as a true storyteller.
The love of man, primarily the love within, is a deep interest to those who study the poetry of life. They constantly clash with those who have a love of philosophy, the realists people experience in many facets of life. Feeling the pain of time's resilient control, Markos Solomons' story unfolds as he nears the end of his life. Love and grief have both been cruel to him, but an opportunity arises as he inches closer to freedom. He has lived life, unimportant to most, but a sibling to one of the most polarizing political figures of the 21st century. By chance, he is able to detail the past to the family who once left him. Their desire to reclaim him as his time withers away opens up discussions of philosophy and love. They wish to know of the exploits of his brother as he reveals secrets of the family's rise into politics during the 2030s and 2040s. The future of his family begin to learn many things about Markos, ending their ignorance of the family name that means so much to others, but remains oblivious to them. Being a disturbed man, his experiences once forced him into a dark corner that left him closed off from the family for so long. While he reopens much of the interesting past, he leaves the unclosed wounds exposed, opening himself to pain once again.
Target: College-aged audience, Young Adults and retirees in the United States, typically Californians. Good majority of audience will be East Africans as well.
