info Nn7 got their new book cover by running a design contest:

SOAR Social Emotional Learning Skills
Brian Winter & Susan Kruger Winter
We have not yet written the back-cover copy (waiting on a general word count and layout), but information about the authors can be found here: https://selskills.com/about-soar-learning/.
The book is about managing self, emotions, relationships, and social interactions with others.
This book will be used a text/workbook/handbook for students in grades 6-12 AND adults. The graphic design must be professional, NOT "juvenille."
Book cover type
1. "Blueprint/architecture" is the driving theme of this book; both the content and interior design of the book are crafted around this theme, so the cover must be congruent. 2. The skyscraper image is a "must" for the front cover; I have attached (in .png and .ai format). 3. A PDF of one chapter is attached so you can see the interior layout. (We may still have a few minor images to "repair" in this chapter, but you will get the idea.) 4. Additional images: This content was first developed as software, so we have included two slide layouts used in the software. (Dark background = title slides, light background = content slides.) The file titled "SEL Slide Background - Book Layout" includes a couple design elements that were used on every page of the interior layout. 5. At this point, we don't have an opinion on whether the background should be light or dark; we are eager to see options.
What to avoid
Avoid "juvenile" design. We want even our youngest readers to feel respected, not that our materials are condescending. Many of our previous materials have caught the eyes of adults, too. So, we lean towards "professionally casual."
It all began with a design brief.
A quick, interactive guide helped them understand their design style and captured exactly what they needed in their book cover.
Designers across the globe delivered design magic.
info Nn7 collaborated with designers to refine their ideas
When design entries come in, you can rate them so designers know what you’re looking for in your logo design.
99designs has great collaboration tools so you can pinpoint and capture your ideas
And then… they selected a winner!
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
We think contests are a super fun way to get design.
