99designs meetup in Serbia!

Kaitlyn Ellison

The first 99designs Meetup event happened last weekend and the turnout was AWESOME! Over 80 designers gathered together in Novi Sad, Serbia, to meet, greet and exchange ideas about design!

We want to send out a special thank you to longtime 99designer Ludibes for organizing this amazing event. You rule!

Wondering what Meetups are? They’re local events led and attended by you – designers, and any of your friends interested in coming along. If you want to meet fellow 99designers in your neighborhood or get together with new people within your community, Meetups are a great way to do it!

Check out some of the great things that Ludibes and other attendees had to say about their experience:

“The Meetup was simply great, and I’ve come away with a handful of memories that I genuinely feel inspired by. It was a pleasure to met such a diverse group of people who were all apart of creating a warm, informal and friendly atmosphere. The size of the venue was beyond any expectations, for the first of its kind, and for a small country such as Serbia.

As far as we know, this was the first time in the World that more than 80 designers from 99designs met in one place. I emerged from the event with a head full of ideas and a great sense of potential for meetups like this – not only in terms of attendance, but also in terms of allowing people to engage in collaborative projects, tutorials and sharing skills. A few hours was simply not enough to fully explore the potential of the event, so I hope there will be many more.”

– Group Leader Branko Lancar / Ludibes

“99designs is where I met 99% of the designers that I know and the place where I met 99% of my clients so far. It is a place where amateur designers can gain experience not just in design, but also in communicating with clients and fellow designers, which is so crucial in this business”

-Pavic Borko / pavkens

“Professionalism and excellent organization of 99designs gives me the opportunity to present my design skills in the best way. 99designs is the #1 place for design in the world, and it is my pleasure to be part of the 99designs family”

-Tanja Krtevska / Tanja Krstevska

“When I pressed ‘sign up’ on 99designs a few years ago, I could not imagine how it would change my life. It opened the door for a lot of opportunities. Besides work, which can be found here in abundance, you can met new clients and friends from all over the world.

Through the community you can learn a lot and you can share your experience with other people. When I got a message for this great 99designs Meetup, I was positively surprised when I saw how many people in my area are working on 99designs. I would recommend to all creative people to work here and share this great experience.”

-Stevan Jovanovic / Stevanga

We would also like to thank Atila Dudas (aka fogaas) for being the event photographer and for Jasmina Krajinovic (aka jasmina) for printing up the banners. And of course… all the designers who attended – you all rock!
