chumad got their new banner ad by running a design contest:
Game AD Banner *Forgotten Planets*
Check out chumad's Banner ad contest…
I need a banner that I can use for advertising to get attention and the long desired "click" to my site.
What's your vision?
Accepted File Formats: Layered PSD The game I have is Forgotten Planets, found at http://www.forgottenplanets.com. I'd like a banner created that I can use to attract potential players to the game. I'm far from being a marketer, so what is said in the banner is up to the designer. For an idea of game features, you can go to the home page. The winner should be able to provide the banner in these formats: 728x90, 468x60, 468x60, 120x600, 160x600, 300x250, 125x125 - but for the sake of the contest, you should simply pick one and use it. Size limit is 60,000 bytes, except for 125x125 limited to 40,000 bytes. Animations and flash are not required but will probably get bonus points. Judging will be based on how effective the banner is determined to be at getting someone excited to play the game. Keep in mind that the audience is generally younger people from 10-25 years of age and already interested in browser-based games. The winner will likely be given the chance to create additional banners for us (I've got about 5 games that need banners), so this is a great opportunity to get yourself some more work. Winning banner will receive $100. It's also possible that we'll pick a 2nd and 3rd place as well to encourage participation. Please let me know if you have any question, I look forward to working with everyone! Have fun!
