Books on a Whim, Inc. is a self-publishing company. I am producing a series of books called "Grade A Papers." The target audience (the readers) are COLLEGE TEACHERS.
What's your vision?
Hi designers. I need a website header for one of the pages within my website. This is a website HEADER, not a banner ad.(Should be created as PRINT FRIENDLY too though, in case I decide to use it in my book too.) This webpage header is for my book series "Grade A Papers". In my Grade A Papers books there is a continuous theme of EGGS personified. Specifically: Eggs as college students, eggs as professors. The eggs NEVER have facial features or hair. They are always whole eggs (never scrambled or cooked) although sometimes they may be (but don't have to be) a little cracked. For your reference, I am attaching: 1.) A mock up I drew of what I would like this website header to look like. (PLEASE NOTE: I'm a terrible artist, so don't take all my drawing too literally when it comes to size, and scale, etc. ALSO PLEASE NOTE: I realize a website header wouldn't be this rectangular shape. That's my mistake with the drawing. Please adapt to accommodate normal website header dimensions.) 2.) For your reference, an attachment of an egg character that is on the back of my book. You'll see it's an egg walking with pencil legs. (Sometimes the eggs have only "arms." Sometimes only "legs." Sometimes both. The arms and legs are always writing utensils.) 3.) I've also attached a look at the writing font "Grade A Papers" which is from my front cover. If you can replicate the font on the chalkboard in the website header, that would be great. (Don't worry about replicating the writing lines.) 4.) I've attached some samples to help with the concept. In addition to the mock up, the most helpful will be the attachment "Sample concept-but dont want students shadowed.jpg" 5.) I've also attached some random images to be helpful, like some student postures, lecterns, professor caps. Here are the specifics: 1.) In a classroom. Eggs are college students. Sitting in desks. During professor's lecture. Professor is an egg too. The students have PENCILS as arms. The professor has PENS as arms. 2.) You see the back or the profiles of the student eggs. There are 5 student eggs. EGG 1: Asleep on desk. EGG 2: Wears baseball cap. Has "his" pencil arm around his "girlfriend" who is the egg next to him. EGG 3: The "girlfriend" egg has earrings and a purse on her "pencil shoulder." EGG 4: This egg is browner, more like a hen's egg. This egg is writing with his hand (which is, of course, the tip of his PENCIL arm). So, he's working hard on his writing. EGG 5: This egg is very enthusiastic to speak up. "She" has her pencil arm raised, hoping the teacher will call on her. PLEASE add a paper cup of coffee (like Starbucks style) on her desk. (I didn't have that on my mock up.) THE PROFESSOR: The professor egg is standing at a podium/lectern and has a professor cap and professor's robe. (Doesn't have to have the robe though.) "He" is pointing at the chalkboard as if teaching. His arms are PENS. (Black or Blue is fine, not a red pen.) Other notes: •There are NO facial features on the eggs. •There are no clothes on the eggs except where I mention above the teacher in the professor cap and robe, and the baseball cap on the student. •You should see the backs or sides of the chairs of the desks, so you know they are seated. •Students’ arms should be PENCILS. •The teacher’s arms should be PENS. •Their entire body/head is one egg. In other words, they don't have separate "bodies." •They are college student eggs, not young children. •The header should be in color. •Not cartoonish goofy. This is important. They are not supposed to be goofy images like you would find in a comic strip. *** Please when you design this, design it also as PRINT friendly too. In addition to the website header, I may wish to use it in some print too like one of my books. Thanks! I can’t wait to see your creations! Please have fun with it! :) Elizabeth
Nothing goofy or cartoon/comic strip like. This is supposed to be light, yes, (and obviously unusual) but it is not supposed to be goofy.
