elizabethjoanschaefer got their new banner ad by running a design contest:
Create CLASSY ALMOST-MAGICAL WEBSITE HEADER to be seen by TENS of THOUSANDS of academics
Check out elizabethjoanschaefer's Banner ad contest…
Books on a Whim will be an online business of self-published books that are whimsical (but not "cartoonish") - There will be no darkness in these books. The target audience is Liberal Arts/Writing academics who enjoy creative writing with humor (again, not cartoonish humor, and not vulgar humor)
What's your vision?
Hi Designers. I have recently created a business, and used 99 Designs for my new logo (Attached.) It's time for me to build my business's website, and I need a website header banner. (Not a banner ad, but an actual WEBSITE HEADER banner.) It's really important as it is the first thing the website visitors will see, and the banner will be the header on each of the site's webpages. The Books on a Whim logo to be in the banner. PLEASE READ THE BELOW SPECS CAREFULLY (thanks :) ) Requirements: * A WILLOW TREE (a graphic/illustration, not a photograph unless it's modified to look like an illustration) * The BRANCHES/LEAVES of the willow tree must be BLUE. (The same blue that is in the logo or extremely similar/matching. I think it's royal blue, but I'm not sure. You should be able to judge by the attached files.) * There should be the illusion of a slight or moderate BREEZE that is blowing the branches of the willow tree. * There can be a small or medium sized lake in the background or a field, but there doesn't have to be. * Some of the willow tree's trunk is revealed and the color of the TRUNK is SILVER. (Not gray.) Some words to describe the mood: 1.) A touch magical, but not overwhelmingly so. 2.) NOT "cartoonish" 3.) Nothing gloomy or scary. 5.) I do not want the branches of the willow tree to hang limb and lifeless. There should be a feeling of hope and/or beauty in the branches' movement in the breeze. 6.) No people or animals or flowers in banner. 7.) A little elegant, but not uptight. 8.) Dimensions similar to the attached website header image I found off the website. Even a little the style can be (but doesn't have to be) a little compatible. But my header not too dark like that below. 9. I will not have menu options on the banner. These are a lot of requirements, I know, but please do not be deterred from participating or feel stifled. Please enjoy yourself :) and include your own touch to this header. Thank you all!!! Elizabeth
PS. This banner is going to get a great deal of exposure for many years. Press. Books. Obviously website. E-blasts. You can always refer to it in your own portfolio even though rights&ownership is transferred to me. And could lead to other independent projects through my business directly.
