iPad app design for Qualitytime

The iPad app is used by grandparents to collaborate & interact with their grandchildren, think a Skype video call but there are additional collaborative things that both individuals on the video call can do. It is also a social network, yet limited to family members - there won't 100's of friends just 10's. The app will be used by young children (4-10yrs) so the UI is to be clear, attractive visually to that demographic and easy to use. Just to complicate matters the app will also be used by grandparents (50+) so the UI is to be clear, attractive visually to that demographic and easy to use. Both sets of users are not the most IT literate when it comes to using apps & software. This version of the app focuses on the grandparent & grandchild connecting then sharing photo's during a video conversation.

There are 4 screens which require a design for the UI based upon the provided wireframes: 1) Adult Mode Homepage (to be used by a parent to manage settings) 2) Edit Contact Screen 3) Family Tree Screen 4) Photo Sharing Screen The designer should focus on initial concepts for 1 or 2 screens for me to review, then when we short-list the better designs we like I will let those designers know so they can produce concepts for the remaining screens. If you have any cool ideas for a screen then please feel free to submit a concept - this is all about generating novel ideas & creative concepts. We have defined the features and functions to be supported in the app being developed now, these are documented in a series of wireframes for each individual screen. All have been attached to this project for you to download & review. I need the UI to be designed for the 4 important screens, colours to be used have not yet been decided & I am open to suggestions for designers - we have just ran a logo competition which has finished and I need to finalise the final logo colours with that designer - I have attaching a couple of files which shows various options I considered for the final selected logo design. The selected colours are defined in the attached AI file - but maybe the UI colours will impact my decision on logo colours so feel free to tell me if you think I could choose better colours? I have also attached a click-able walk through of the app to give you context for how the various pages will be used within the app & the features & functions it will support.
