mad-dog-andrew got their new app by running a design contest:
App design for Zombie Parashooters Game
Check out mad-dog-andrew's App contest…
I make iPhone apps - all sorts, games, utilities, web connected apps and apps for customers. I can stumble my way around illustrator and photoshop enough to create interfaces for some apps... but not all, especially not games. Regardless: I'm seeking graphics for a games App, not for designs about a "mad dog software app".
What's your vision?
I want vector designs to use in a game called Zombie Troopers. I need (illustrator) vectors so that I can modify them if necessary. The game will revolve around Zombie's parashooting from the sky to try and attack humans sitting on the ground. I previously released "Parashoota" which is very similar but has horrible graphics. You can find "Parashoota Lite" on the appstore if you want to see it in action. The player will attempt to defend cute characters on the ground from the zombies by flicking bullets at the zombie's as they fall. Each time a flick is made one of the characters on the ground will throw a rock at the zombie. If a zombie gets hit he will be knocked off screen and killed, if he lands he'll walk towards the good characters and eat one. The good characters will sit in a truck which refuels while the player shoots all the zombies on a level. In later levels the zombies may ride in a helicopter and the player may operate a shield which protects the good characters. I've attached a pdf here showing concepts for everything below. The core components I'd need are: - an app icon - some styled "zombie troopers" text for the main screen - at least 2 zombies wearing parachutes - a "good guy character" - should be cute! - a small pickup truck for the good guys to ride on - a small fuel pump/bowser to show next to the truck - (small) helicopter design for the later levels - one or two vector backdrop images In my head I imagine a cute, cartoon feel for the whole app in a style similar to Plants versus Zombies (see attachment). I recently saw "Book of Eli" and thought that backgrounds reflecting the colors and imagery in the film would work well in the game (see attachment). This is my first time using an external designer so I hope I've provided everything!
The expected audience is casual gamers over a fairly broad age range, I would like to be able to rate the game G although would consider PG if necessary.
