nicolepithie got their new 3d by running a design contest:
Fur Angel pet urn -resin
Check out nicolepithie's 3D contest…
Our product is resin pet urn. We have chosen to have the urn made from resin as it can accomodate intricate design detail while being strong and durable.
What's your vision?
We would like a resin pet urn designed. The measurements are Height- 6 inches X Width - 5.5inches and Depth- 5.5inches. The resin colour will be white and we have chosen to work with resin as once the mold has been made the final resin product can accomodate intricate details. - The loss of a pet is heartbreaking so we want to have an urn that when people see it in their home it makes them smile and feel a sense of peace that their furry friend is still here and they have been able to give them a really beautiful final resting place. - looking for a design that the general public would find appealing. - Fur angel is the theme. We would like to see the urn have a picture frame in the middle so a photo can be slipped in from the top and enough space for a blank engraving plaque/plate above this. the photo frame will roughly be 3.5 inches length and 3 inches in Height but if the wings or design wraps around the edges or corners and decreases the photo space thats ok, as long as a decent size photo of a pet can still be displayed. frame doesn't have to be square. I would love to see a pair of angel wings wrapped around the photo frame to give the appearance of their beloved pet looking like a "fur Angel" looking back at them. -Be creative though as the wings don't necessarily have to be wrapped around the frame, we are open to ideas. we would like them to look like angel wings (not bird wings) feather details are important. - Or a pair of Angel wings coming out the back of the urn and wrapping around the sides and then touching at the front- around the picture frame would also be very nice to see. - Something that pulls at the heart strings. we are in retail so we have a bit of competition (although I'm yet to come across an urn that I really love) grieving the loss of a pet can be unbearable so we would like our customers to love the urn and feel an attachment to what they have chosen for their beloved pet.- - Needs to be a design that will accomodate for a cat or dog ashes. -Pawprints - not a huge fan but they seem to be all over pet urns, and people like them. if done nicely or uniquely we will definitely consider. - Open to seeing border designs around the top lid, base or sides but don't want it to look too busy or gawdy. - Detail on the top of the lid could be nice too. - Would consider some phrases on the front/bottom or top / on top of the lid might be better???? - " Heaven has a new angel", Our beloved Fur Angel etc etc. - Also open to an urn that looks like a dog house. If we see a dog house urn and an urn as per our description that we absolutely love we will look at buying both designs. -Dog house we are open to suggestions- would like to see detail in the roof and the sides. would also like a space for a photo frame and an engraving plate. Open to flower design on the urn but concerned that it might polarise and only attract a certain type of person ( I could be wrong but we are not 100% sure about them, we havent seen any urns with flower details though so this could be a point of difference) - We would like to see a nice base- pics attached of bases ( not just a plain square base) We are open minded on the design though, so looking forward to whatever your talented design skills dream up.
There is an attached pic of a resin urns (only as a rough example as it's not a design we particularly like) but it has the pic of a dog in the middle, ideally we would like the lid of the urn to be like this ( where it locates inside the urn and won't easily slide off.). All pics are really just as a refence point and not necessarily an absolute must. We are inspired by the "Willow tree" designer if this helps. NEW EDIT IDEA- would also like to see a pair of Angel wings coming out the back of the urn and wrapping around the sides and then touching at the front- just below the picture frame.

And then… they selected a winner!
Wonderful experience. Raven's winning design was one of the first submitted, and she refined the design throughout the contest, incorporating our feedback. She also gave us an alt on black which really sold the design for us. Thanks so much for your patience and skill!
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
We think contests are a super fun way to get design.
