The purpose of the project is to re-design the outer housing of the Solar-Breeze NX solar-powered robotic pool cleaner in order to give it a more contemporary and hi-tech look which might be consistent
with a world-class consumer robotic product. While the outward appearance will become more appealing as a result of this design change, the overall operation and functionality of the unit will not change.
The optimal design outcome would be to create a new outward design that facilitates the continued use of or most of the existing internal componentry including motors, gear platforms, paddlewheels, battery
and printed circuit board. Changing the location of the electronics compartment which contains the battery and printed circuit board is an option. That said, the purpose of this contest is to explore new design ideas and concepts with minimal constraints. We are confident that a strong design concept can, with creativity, be adapted to accommodate many existing parts and components.
It is understood that a significant change in the outward appearance and structure of the Solar-BreezeNX may also require a re-design of the pontoon and floatation system, including the chlorine dispenser tray.
