I am nearly done with my entry. What type of resources/features will you have? We can all go with cookie-cutter mookups (in terms of general features), but it could be more personalized and appealing if we are able to add design of what you'll actually offer (such as icons that fit correctly to your needs).
Everyone, sorry about not leaving feedback - I was waiting a bit to see more entries, so I could compare. The few that I have left in consideration, truly have potential - that's the style that I am after.
It is unfortunate that this contest has gone nowhere. With no feedback, there can't be any more entries Brian - so the contest has essentially died.
Mr Gardner, please give some feedback, the contest has become unhealthy. :(

3) the typical social media functions - recent posts, recent forum posts, recent members, etc

Several questions come to mind :
1. Do you require the layout in Photoshop PSD ?
2. What menu tabs do you require in the header ?
3. Exactly what elements do you require on the home page. eg Featured Articles and what else ?
4. Will you have pictures of members on the home page . eg Featured members or "Look whos online " etc. ?
